Hello fellow Elks,

Fall is in the air as we head into the month of September. A reminder to mark your calendars, the lodge is closed for Labor Day. Enjoy your time with friends and family. Stay safe.

Be on the lookout for some improvements taking place this month. We have scheduled a slurry seal & restriping project for the lots around the building this month. Work will begin toward the end of September. On 9/25-9/26 the west side parking lot will be closed. On 9/27-9/28 the east side parking lot will be closed. Thank you for your patience during the closure of the parking lots to complete the project this month.

AZ Elks Major Projects raffle has begun. Get your tickets at our lodge from the bartenders or online.

The Elks Most Valuable Scholarship Application opened August 1 is geared toward current high school seniors! Deadline for applications is November 13.

Make plans to attend and support the Michael Martin (one of our dear members) Horsecollar Shuffleboard Fundraiser on September 9. Sign up is at 12:30 pm and play is from 1-6 pm. All proceeds raised will go to Michael Martin’s Mother to help with funeral expenses. Open to Elks Lodge Members and their guests.

Another perfect opportunity for members to participate is the GET ON THE BUS for Breast Cancer in October, breast cancer awareness month. Contact Joanne C. for donations, raffle basket donations, and details about the ride. The first 40 who sign up and pay their $40 cash will be guaranteed a seat on the bus.

Football fans, stop in and support your favorite team. Games will be televised on the screens in the lounge.

And a proud accomplishment, the Apache Junction Lodge 2349 hosted the East District Deputy Clinic August 19, 2023. We had many knowledgeable presenters from Arizona Elks Lodge State, which was led by DDGER Brian Gorski. Everyone received lots of great information. Thank you to everyone that assisted with setup and all aspects of preparing for the clinic.
